Pantone Colour of the Year 2016: Rose Quartz and Serenity

These are the two colours of 2016, as chosen by Pantone:

PANTONE 13-1520 Rose Quartz

and

PANTONE 15-3919 Serenity.

What do these colours mean for home, fashion, beauty and perfumery this year?

Here are two suggestions:

1. Genderless

In 2016, genderless products will continue to be a strong trend and we will see the trend draw bigger circles to impact on more products, not just fashion.

We expect to see the introduction of more products without strict boundaries.

Genderless perfumes and genderless fashion are already very popular.

About 30% of men already use the beauty products of their wives. Will we see more genderless beauty products ?

2. Pastel = Calm

Both Pantone colours have a calming or serene influence, with a hint of romanticism. Consumers are pushing towards getting back a balance in their life.

We expect furniture, accessories, perfumes, beauty products and more to utilize to offer versions with these calming colours or their calming effects and a new softness.
