Buckingham Palace announces that Queen Elizabeth II, the UK’s longest-serving monarch, has died at Balmoral aged 96, after reigning for 70 years.

Our thoughts are with her family and the entire nation.

Queen Elizabeth was a shining beacon for Britain and a much admired Monarch globally.

In a constantly changing world, her sense of duty, dignity and dedication to the nation were exemplary. The number and variety of tributes that are being paid to her by so many different people from across the world, show much she meant.

She will be sadly missed.
