The Language of Perfume

When dealing with customers from outside the U.K. we are quite often asked “What Language do you speak, or do you speak another Language”, and our automatic reply here at ‘PAIRFUM London’ is that we speak ‘PERFUME’, it is an amazing, wonderful, sensuous, global vernacular that whether you realise it or not we all speak. So no matter where you live, you are already fluent in The Language of Perfume.

When you first think of The Language of Perfume, you may automatically think we are referring to the day to day terms used in the perfume industry. Words such as ‘Accord , Chypre, Floralcy, Fougère, Oriental, Musky, Ozonic, Soliflore, Woody’ to name but a few,  we could go on but that is a subject for another time. The Language of Perfume that we are referring to in this article is the instinctive, natural, inherited verbal expression that we use to describe feelings, memories and emotions.
